The complex mixture of sesquiterpenes and esters gives Ylang Ylang its extraordinarily rich multi-layered floral character — used in some of the world's most celebrated perfumes.
Chemical families
Ylang Ylang means "flower of flowers" in Tagalog. Native to the Philippines and Indonesia, it has been used for centuries in Southeast Asian traditions. In Indonesia the flowers are traditionally scattered on the bed of newlyweds. In French perfumery it became an essential ingredient in many famous compositions.
Ylang Ylang represents joy and playfulness. Supports heart-centered living, emotional freedom, and the release of inner criticism. Encourages sensuality, creativity, and uninhibited joy.
Cautions: Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor's care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. Use in moderation — can cause headache in high concentrations.
